We are doing research on lithium-ion battery (LIB) and polymer electrolyte fuel cell (PEFC) for vehicular application, focusing on the issues of non-uniformity associated with the large-format or large scale, thereby linking the material developer with the system integrator. We approach LIB and PEFC multi-disciplinarily and from multi-scales, combining characterization, analysis, testing, modeling, and simulation. Our aim is to understand the mechanism underlying the dynamic and degradation behavior of the electrochemical power sources so as to optimize the design and improve the management.
